Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Dispatcher/Scheduler to manage the real-time coordination of trips, drivers, and vehicles. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can think quickly under pressure, and takes pride in helping people get where they need to go safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, prioritize, and schedule trip requests using dispatch software and internal protocols.
  • Assign trips to drivers based on location, capacity, availability, and client needs.
  • Monitor all routes in real-time, reroute vehicles as necessary to avoid delays or respond to changes.
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers via radio/tablet/phone to manage trip status, updates, and emergencies.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to passengers, caregivers, schools, clinics, and other stakeholders.
  • Handle last-minute schedule changes, no-shows, cancellations, and urgent client concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with operations and fleet teams to track vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and driver assignments.
  • Ensure all documentation (trip logs, driver manifests, incident reports) is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new drivers on routing and dispatch protocols.
  • Track metrics such as on-time performance, route efficiency, and daily trip volumes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree a plus.
  • 2 years of dispatching, routing, or scheduling experience in transportation, logistics, NEMT, or paratransit strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software (TripSpark, Samsara, RouteGenie, Routific, or similar systems).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking and time-management abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or rotating shifts if needed.

Schedule

  • Morning and afternoon shifts available
  • Rotating weekends or on-call shifts may be required
  • Part-time and full-time roles open depending on availability
